Unlimited Prosecco Cruise in Budapest: What Each Boat Actually Pours

Budapest's unlimited prosecco cruises compared: what is poured on each boat, for how long, what is never included, and the one-glass cruises sold under similar names (Oct 2026).

Updated October 2026

“Unlimited prosecco” means something different on every boat in Budapest. On the most-reviewed one, Duna-Weser’s Unlimited Prosecco, Beer, Aperol & Limoncello Spritz Cruise, it means unlimited Hungarian sparkling wine at the bar, four self-service spritzers, beer and soft drinks for the whole 75 minutes. On GetYourGuide it is from US$28 a person, rated 4.8 from 50,831 reviews (checked October 2026). Other boats pour real prosecco only, add wine, or stop the bar after one glass. The calendar for the Duna-Weser cruise is below; the rest of this page sets out what each boat includes.

Three things follow from the table. The spritz boats are the ones that pour the most variety. A one-hour boat with prosecco only is a narrower product at a similar price. And no boat on this list includes spirits or proper cocktails: where they are sold at all, you pay for them at the bar.

Is the prosecco really prosecco?

On the Duna-Weser cruise the glass holds Hungarian sparkling wine, a classic dry one always, and a rosé or semi-sweet when available. Prosecco is an Italian protected name, and the drink on this boat is sold as Hungarian sparkling wine in its own description, whatever the title says. For most people on a summer evening the difference is academic; for anyone who wants Italian prosecco specifically, Silverline sells its one-hour prosecco-only boat as the Bottega Prosecco Cruise, and Budapest Boat Party’s Sip & Sail pours prosecco in three sweetness levels.

Mahart also runs its own Prosecco Cruise, sold on its website rather than on GetYourGuide: 60 minutes from Batthyány tér Dock 1 on the Buda bank, with unlimited Mionetto prosecco, homemade lemonade and a QR-code audio guide, for HUF 11,990 a person (checked October 2026). Mionetto is an Italian prosecco house, which makes this, with Silverline’s Bottega boat, one of the two that name the prosecco they pour. It sails Wednesday to Sunday evenings at 20:45, with an extra 19:00 sailing on Fridays and Saturdays; Mahart’s page shows that timetable up to 1 November 2026. Times and tickets are on mahartpassnave.hu. On GetYourGuide the nearest thing is the unlimited-prosecco option of Mahart’s By Night cruise, on Fridays and Saturdays.

How the refills work

Unlimited does not mean a waiter at your elbow. On the Duna-Weser boat you get a first glass of sparkling wine as you board, then you take the same glass back to the bar for each refill, and the four spritzers come from self-service stations. Beer is poured at the bar too. You keep your glass, drinks cannot be swapped, and the bar is cashless for anything you buy. Alcohol is served responsibly, and anyone visibly drunk can be refused.

The Danube Flow evening cruise hands out a wristband that you need for drinks service, and its bar shuts 10 minutes before the boat docks. On Budapest Boat Party’s boats the crew tops up glasses as it goes round, which reviewers of the Sip & Sail mention.

The cruises that pour one glass

Several Budapest cruises include a single drink and use similar words in the title. They are fine sightseeing hours, and cheaper, but they are not unlimited:

If a listing says “welcome drink” or “a glass of”, that is what you get.

The rules on board

  • Age. Hungarian law bans selling or serving alcohol to anyone under 18, and every boat here follows it. The Duna-Weser and Floating Lotus boats take children with an adult; the Sip & Sail and Budapest Boat Party’s other boats, such as the Danube Beat, are 18 and over only, with ID.
  • Outside drinks. Duna-Weser, Silverline and the Danube Beat ban outside food and drink, and Danube Flow bans food on board. Duna-Weser makes one exception: a birthday cake.
  • Arriving drunk. Danube Flow and Budapest Boat Party (the Sip & Sail and the Danube Beat) can refuse a visibly drunk guest without a refund. Silverline can refuse boarding to anyone who appears drunk, and Duna-Weser lists intoxication among the things not allowed.
  • Being late. Boarding opens about 15 minutes before departure and the boats leave on time. Silverline charges 50% of the price to rebook a missed sailing, subject to space.

Where each boat boards has the docks on a map, and day, sunset or evening covers which departure to pick.

How these facts were checked

Written 30 October 2026. Drinks, durations, age rules, refill and boarding rules are from each cruise’s GetYourGuide listing, read in US dollars on 30 October 2026, and the Silverline Viator listing from the Viator Partner API the same day. The under-18 rule is from the Baranya County Government Office’s notice on serving alcohol to minors (September 2026); Silverline’s dock and prosecco-only package from its own site, budapestrivercruise.eu; Dock 10 from the site of the company that runs it, dunacruises.com; Mahart’s Prosecco Cruise from mahartpassnave.hu. All read in October 2026.
