Sip & Sail: The Prosecco Cruise is Budapest Boat Party’s adults-only evening on the Danube: 75 minutes on the MS Stadt Wien from Akadémia Dock 2, beside the Chain Bridge, with 90 minutes of unlimited prosecco in sweet, medium and dry and prosecco cocktails, from boarding until the boat docks. Rated 4.5 from 914 reviews.
A professional photographer goes round the boat, background music plays, and the audio guide is in the Ultimate Budapest app on your own phone; nobody narrates on board. There is an open-air terrace and indoor seating.
Who it suits: couples and groups of friends, all 18 or over, who want a sociable early evening with a glass that keeps being filled. Who should look elsewhere: anyone travelling with under-18s, for whom the Duna-Weser prosecco cruise takes children with an adult, and anyone who wants to dance, for whom the Danube Beat boat party leaves from the same dock later the same night.
What to know before you book:
- Sailing times. Boarding at 18:00 and 20:00, departure 15 minutes later, back at 19:30 and 21:30.
- Days. Thursday to Sunday from 1 November 2026. Every night from 21 to 23 December and from 27 to 30 December; no sailings from 24 to 26 December or on 31 December and 1 January; Thursday to Sunday again from 2 January 2027.
- Age. 18 and over, with valid ID.
- Late arrivals. Last entry is 15 minutes after boarding opens, when the boat leaves. It does not wait.
- Weather. The cruise runs rain or shine. In August 2026 one reviewer’s sailing was cancelled for low water and the boarding point moved the next day, so check your messages on the day.
- Turned away. Guests who arrive visibly drunk can be refused without a refund. Not suitable for wheelchair users.
From November both sailings leave well after dark: Budapest’s sunset falls around 16:00 in November and December, so this is a cruise past the lit city rather than a sunset one. In summer the early sailing meets the sunset.
